Fire exit: Obviously the main fire escape is via the stairs and the street door, but if for any reason that’s not accessible then there is a set of keys labelled FIRE EXIT on the shelf above the washing machine (which is in the corner kit cupboard of the studio). You can use those keys to go through the move well therapy space, into the Abbotts shop next door and down the stairs on that side.

First aid: First aid kit is also in the shelving unit above the washing machine. We have some instant ice packs there for any sprains or bumps etc.

WiFi: If you need to connect to Wi-Fi, you can use the network ‘Abbotts guest’ and Password Axm1nster

Sound System: We have Sonos speakers for the studio, which are plugged in and available constantly. To connect go onto your streaming provider (make sure your Bluetooth is on) and connect using the speaker symbol to ‘MOVE STUDIO’ If you already have the Sonos app and are familiar with their system you can also connect there. If you can’t find the speaker on Bluetooth you can connect your phone to WiFi so it’s on the same network as the speaker which may help (Network: Abbotts guest / Password: Axm1nster). If you still cannot connect, try deleting some of your remembered Bluetooth devices as if there are lots of them is sometimes will not work.

Air Conditioning / Heating: Our air conditioning unit works using the controller that is mounted on the wall (beside the door of the kit cupboard in the studio). You will need to be quite close to it for the controller to work. You first need to choose the operating mode (snowflake setting for cool, sun setting for heat) and then adjust the temperature using the up-and-down arrows and the fan speed using the fan button. Please ensure it’s turned off before you leave.

Equipment: This is all stacked in our new alcove in the studio. You are welcome to use whatever you like, but please ensure that mats are cleaned (with the sprays found in the wooden crates) at the end and everything is put back as it is found.

Candles / Incense / Fairy lights: We have a gold plate on the shelves above the washing machine with candles and incense that you are welcome to use if you wish. Please make sure these are extinguished before you leave and any dust from the incense is wiped off the floor. There is also a string of fairy lights there you can use if you want low lighting. There is a plug socket at the back of the room, and another one built into the storage shelves against the mirror wall (on the second shelf up). If you use the fairy lights, please make sure you wrap them back around the cardboard so they don’t get tangled for the next user. 

Toilets: There is no need to lock the toilets anymore. If you find it is locked and you need to find the key, there is a little white basket in the old kit cupboard with spare keys in, one of them is labelled ‘toilets’

Water / Spillages: We now have a water fountain instead of any bottles or cups. People can drink directly or fill their bottles there. If there are any water spillages on the floor, there are some old towels labelled ‘floor towels’ in the kit cupboard that can be used to mop up if needed.

Studio Doors: Please always shut the doors to the studio for your classes as we need this as a sound barrier for the move well therapy space. Even if no one is there when you start, the shifts are varied through the week and so people may arrive. So please make sure to shut the studio doors every time you start a session.

Doors: Please make sure both the reception and street doors are secured before you leave the premises. If you can remember, please also make sure the door to the shower room is closed when you leave. This is purely because the sensor stays on when the door is open, so just to save power if you can shut that door that would be appreciated.

Hallway Lights: When you come in through the street door, please turn the light switches on that are in front of you at the bottom of the stairs. This will turn on the neon logo sign on the stairway. You can’t turn the sign on from upstairs, so please turn it on as you come in. Press both of the switches downstairs to turn on all the hallway lights (up and down).
